HAMILTON UNION. MEETING OF MANAGEMENT. Mr W. Udy presided at a special meeting of the management committee of the Hamilton Rugby Union last evening. A request from the Frank ton Club for permission to entertain Manukau Rovers’ seniors and fourths on Easier Saturday at Rugby Park was received. The requisite permission was granted subject to the confirmation of the incoming committee. Training Quarters at Rugby Park. Mr E. J. L. Whiting reported to the committee that he had interviewed at Rugby Park Messrs W. H. Paul and R. G." Fowler of the Hamilton Domain Board in reference to the erection of the training quarters at Rpgby Park on the proposed site at the corner of Mill and Hinenma Streets, and that Mr Fowler had suggested building the training quarters on the acre recently granted under Glasgow Lease behind Hie present stand and dressing sheds and to utilise No. 4 ground as the training area. The committee of the union considered the counter proposals made, and decided to disagree

with thorn. It was also decided to write to the Domain Board stating that the management committee had so far received no intimation of the Domain Board’s decision on the question brought before it and respectfully requesting the board’s urgent decision' so that the immediate requirements in the matter of training might be complied with. The grounds committee reported that the tender of Mr ,T. Tregonning had been accepted for work at Rugby Park and that of Mr .T. Clements for i the preparation of playing areas at Hayes’ Paddock. The standard of back play by the senior representatives was ' much higher than that of previous seasons, and the forwards, although a young pack, played up to the previous season’s standard. Although the Finlay Cup was lost to Cambridge and the attempt on the Peace Cup was unsuccessful, some very interesting football was witnessed. The fixture with Hamilton being one of the finest games put up by the representatives for. some time. Twelve repre-

They hot only retained the Boyce Cup, but they won and successfully defended the Clark Cup against all challengers. Eleven representative games were played, ten being won and one drawn; points for 15G, against 52. The third grade representatives did not do so well, and of the four matches one was won, two lost, and one drawn. Trophies were won during the year by the following players.—Most improved back, C. Fausett; most improved forward, D. Simps'on; best attender at practice, J. Stewart; best forward in tight play, Stevenson, most improved junior, J. F. Smith. The training shed was erected during the season and was made good use of. The cost of the shed was £254 10s 9d, the clubs interested donated £33 18s 6d. The union wished to place on record its appreciation of the able manner in which the referees carried out their duties, also to thank the coaches, selectors and owners of cars who assisted in the transport of the teams. The balance-sheet shows a credit l balance of £8 13s 4d on the year's

workings, and the assets, including the training shed, are estimated at £347 13s 4d. TE HOE CLUB. The annual meeting of the Te Hoe FootbalL Club, was'held on Friday, 21st inst., there being a record attendance. The report and balance sheet j were adopted. The question of .'amalgamation with the Thames Valley Union was discussed at length, but a unanimous vote rejected the proposal.
