NGARUAWAKIA WINS SHIELD. On Saturday the Ngaruawahia seniors met the Taupiri seniors on the home courts, and by defeating them by 9 sets to 4, Ngaruawahia won the senior competition for the Lower Waikato. There are still two matches to play in the competition, Taupiri v. Iluntly No. 2, • and Ngaruawahia v. Hunlly No. 1, but the results of these matches will have no effect' on the position. The shield has returned to Ngaruawahia after having been held by lluhlly for four seasons. The following were the results of Saturday’s game:— Men’s Doubles. —J. Menzies and IT. .T. Sampson v. Miller and Wilson, 9—i; F. Kibblcwhite and If. Hill v. Tapper and Davis, 9-—2. Ladies’ Doubles. —Mcsdames Jlsdale and Ivibblewhile v. Miss Waring and Mrs Powell, 7 —5; Misses O’Connor and Pharo v.
