Walter Linclrum, the Australian billiards player, visited the Prime Minister, Mr MacDonald at No. 10, Downing Street- Mr MacDonald congratulated him on his achievements, and wished him good luck. Lindrum defeated Willie Smith in their time-limit match by scoring 36,256 points to Smith’s 14,971. Lindrum's last breaks included runs of 593, 1462, 998 and 902. Smith made 332, 285, 529, 762, 238. Smith by a brilliant rally in the evening scored 1693 against Lindrum's 87. But Linclrum in the match created several world records. His aggregate easily beat the previous best, which was Smith's 30,900 against Fred Lindrum last season. Linclrum’s average of 262, and li breaks of over 1000, are also records. Lindrum after the match thanked the public for its wonderful reception of him on his tour. When he returned to Australia he would tell them how wonderfully he was treated in Britain. That was one reason why lie had made so many large breaks, and it also influenced his decision to return. Clark McConachy defeated Davis in their time-limit match. Ilis score was 24,270, including closing breaks of 275, 281, 1780 (his personal highest break), 325 and 239. Davis made 23,722, including breaks of 534, 286, 293, 303 and 065, of which 590 were made by close cannons. A run of 172 cannons was obtained while the balls were taken from just above the baulkiine to the opposite middle pocket. The break took 18 minutes.
