SPEED-BOAT CAPSIZES.

DURING OUTBOARD RACE. HAMILTON DRIVER'S ORDEAL, An unusual accident occurred when the speed boat Miss Hamilton capsized during the outboard speed boat races on the Whau River on Saturday afternoon. The boat, which was driven by Mr J. Blackmore, of Victoria Street, Hamilton, suddenly shot into the air about 350 yards from tjie start, and nose-dived into the water. The bow stock firmly in the mud and Mr Blackmore, who had not been thrown clear, was caught and. held under water for a short time be(ore he was able to get clear. Other craft quickly went to his assistance and towed the boat to the starting point, where it was hauled out and righted. The boat and engine were undamaged except by water.
