DESTRUCTIVE FIRES.
BLAZE AT HUNTLY. MINER’S HOME BURNED. EARLY MORNING OUTBREAK. ! (Special to Times). HUNTLY, Monday. A four-roomed house in Farrell’s Lane, owned by Mr Cobb, of Auckland, and occupied by Mr T. Hart, a miner, was totally destroyed by fire at 2 o’clock 'this morning. All the contents were burned and .Mr Hart had just time to make his escape. Mrs Hart and the children were away on a visit to Gisborne. The building was insured with the New Zealand Insurance Company and the furniture was insured with the State Fire Office. The origin of th# lire is not known. OUTBREAK AT TAURANGA. LARGE HOUSE DESTROYED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TAURANGA, Monday. A two-storeyed, eleven-roomed house, owned and occupied by Mr -J. Harrison, was destroyed by flreNon Saturday afternoon. The occupants were away at the time. The origin of the fire is unknown. The fire engine broke down on the way. The hose was transferred to a motor, but the fire had too great a hold. The insuranse was £2OOO on the house, in the South British Office, and on the furniture £4OO in the sam« office.,
