OTOROHANGA BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the Otorohanga Town Board Commissioner F. O. R. Phillips presided. It was decided to place an order with the Waitomo Electric Power Board for a fire siren, with a three mile radius. It was resolved that no athletic contests will be permitted on the Island Reserve on Sundays, unless with the specific consent of the Board. The Board decided to construct rock-gardens to the right and left of the main entrance to the Municipal Hall.
Resolved to take steps t,o further urge the Valuation DcparLmcnt to revalue the town, as previously promised.
it was arranged to procure 300 yards of metal for re-surfacing the streets during the winter months. As a result of continuous complaints from residents and ratepayers, carriers are to be warned that rubbish must be -dumped on the recognised dumping ground only. Action will he taken against offenders against this rule in the future.
I-t was decided to revise the charges for water supply as between the inner and outer areas. Householders outside the town area will he charged- a uniform annual rate of £3.
