Harvest Festival. The festival of harvest in connection with the Presbyterian Church was held in the Kaipaki Church on Sunday afternoon, when Rev. James Hay, ol Cambridge, conducted the service. A good supply of harvest produce was lo be seen, the same having been artistically arranged by the Misses N. and \y. Scott., assisted by other ladies of the congregation. Mr A. Towsey, of Cambridge, presided at the 'organ, and rendered appropriate music. Mrs C. Watt, of Cambridge, sang the solo “Out of the deep I call.” On Monday evening ail the gifts
were kindly auctioned by Mr N. Hill, of Cambridge. The bidding was keen, and everything was sold, £7 14s Id being realised. HARAPEPE-TE PAHU. School Picnic. Last Friday some of the school children from Te Pahu and Kaniwhaniwha Schools spent an enjoyable day at Rotorua. They were conveyed there by motor lorry, leaving about 8 a.m. and arriving in Rotorua in time for lunch. After seeing the most interesting sights they set off on the return journey via Arapuni, where step stopped and inspected the works, and arrived home about half-past eight. Country Women’s Club. Last Wednesday the Country’ Women’s Club held its picnic on the banks of the Kaniwhanlwha stream. The time was passed very pleasantly with music from Miss Hill’s gramophone, while the younger people took advantage of the delightful spot for bathing. The purchase for a library of the Harapepe Post Office when it is closed was discussed by the members during the afternoon.
