WHATAWHATA.
Dance. A dance given by Mr Arthur Scott’s Orchestra was held in the Whatavvhata Hall, and proved successful and enjoyable. A dainty supper was provided. Tennis. Owing to the Ngaruawahia regatta last Saturday matches were postponed. A team will play Paterangi on Saturday. Croquet. Tbe ground is being prepared, ready for Uie grass to be sown at an early date. Mr Carpenter has generously offered to plough tbe ground, and Mr Civil is giving his services for the levelling, so that, early in summer play 'should be in full swing. Football. The football season is drawing
near. A meeting of the United Football Club is to be held on the 26th inst. St. Barnabas’s Church. A meeting has been called to. provide socials and dances in aid of the church funds, it is hoped to hold a social evening as soon after Easter as possible. Accident. Master David Sperry, son of Mr F. Sperry, of Whalawhala, had the misfortune to break an arm through falling off a waggon while playing with other children, it is pleasing to know that he is progressing favourably. Personal. Mr Cyril Boyd is progressing favourably after his operation for appendicitis. Friends of Mr Bickle will be pleased to know that he is now able to resume his farm duties after his most painful accident.
