BAY OF PLENTY CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. MAUNGANUI TO CHROMADYNE. LE CHOUCAS WINS THE CUP. (Special to Times). TAURANGA, Saturday. The annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Jockey Club was held at the Gate Pa, Tauranga to-day, in beautiful weather before a large attendance. The course was in good order. J- Mated, Matamata. . , . th Glenison was best supported with £433 10s from Welcome Boy (LJObl and Kiwinui (£365 10s). Welcome Boy was the early leader from Glenison, Golden Pennant, Dainty Manners and Kiwinui. Along the back Glenison showed the way to Da.inty Maimers, Golden Pennant and Kiwinui. Coming into the straight Glenison and Welcome Boy were together, ahead of Golden Pennant, Kiwinui and Dainty Manners. Welcome Boy went on to win comfortably by a length and a-half from Glenison, who was half length in front of Golden Pennant. Most support came for Chromadyne who carried £761 10s, the next in order of selection being Snow Pnnce (£404 10s) and Parfait Amour Chromadyne was soon in front from Snow Prince, Yalquette, Parfait Amour and Principle Boy. At the end of three furlongs, Chromadyne Snow Prince Principal Boy, Yalquette, Pa fait Amour, Joy Girl and Tarrapeen were racing in that order. Chromadyne was a good two lengths clear turning for home where Snow Pnnce and Parfait Amour were on terms m front of Principal Boy and Yalquette Chromadyne won as he liked a gout, one and a-half lengths m front of Snow Prince with Parfait Amour a neck away third. The publio were not wrong in sending Le Choucas out favourite with £574 10s on his chances and placing Cynthia N. next in demand with £555 lOs. Transformer was third fancy with £428 lOss. Cynthia N. soon went to the front, showing the way out of the straight to High Pitch, Le Choucas and Rawhetu, with Grand Tea, Tinokoa and Mosaic racing in order. Along the back Cynthia N„ who was pulling hard, had charge from High Pitch, with’Mosaic, Le Choucas, Grand Tea, and Tinokoa racing next in a hunch, and then came Rawhetu and Transformer. Across the top Cynthia N. was a length clear of High Pitch and Lc Choucas, who were together, with Grand Tea, Tinokoa, Mosaic, and Transformer in that order. Cynthia N. still had charge into the straight, but in the run home Le Choucas wore her down to get the verdict by a length from Cynthia N., who was a similar distance in front of High Pitch. Tinokoa was fourth, followed by Rewhetu and Transformer. Time, 2.8 2-5. HERRIES MEMORIAL HACK CUP HANDICAP, Of £IOO and Cup valued at £25; 1 mile. 2 WAITEKOHE, Mr. A. Winner trained by owner. Te Puke. Rose Willonyx was Hie public’s fancy, commanding attention to the extent of £6SB, next in demand being Waitekohe C£576) and Neil £409 1 os. Otangihaku was sixtli ciioice, with £152. Day Lass was slow 7 to begin, Otangi-
haku, Bay d’Or, Rose Willonyx and Waitekohe being prominent in the early stages. At the end of half-a-mile Otangihaku was showing the way to Bay d’Or, with Coulis, Waitekohe and Day Lass in that order. Otangihaku and Bay cl'Or were on terms into 'the straight, with Waitekohe and Coulis handy, and Neil leading the others. In a good finish Waitekohe got the verdict by halLa-length from Otangihaku, who was a neck in front of Bay d’Or. Coulis was fourth, and then came Neil, Rose Willonyx and Day Lass. Time, 1.43 2-5. The Te Rapa trained representative, Page Boy, commanded major support going out with £654 10s on his chances, the next in demand being Takutama (£507) and Respirator (£4Bl 10s). Town Bird was the early leader from Billikins, Takutama, Respirator, and Page Boy. At the end of half a mile, Town Bird and Billikins were the leaders with Page Boy and Respirator racing next. Page Boy led into the straight and came on to win easily by two lengths from Takutama who was one and a-half lengths in front of King Willoynx.
