MOTORISTS FINED.

WAIKATO COUNTY CASES. CONVICTIONS AT HUNTLY. (Bv TolegTapb.—Press Association.) HUNTLY, Saturday. At the Huntly Magistrate’s Court the following were prosecuted by the Waikato County traffic inspector: Victor Mackay, manager Transport and Storage, Ltd., convicted and lined £3, with costs, for operating a truck, overloaded, at Te Kauwhala, on January 31. George Sweet, driver of the lorry, was convicted and fined £l, with costs 10s. Arthur Cecil James Dent, of Hamilton, driver of Aard Motor Services, was convicted and lined £l, with costs 10s for travelling at a speed in a car in excess of its class namely, 24 miles per hour, on the Great South Road, on February 11. The magistrate took a lenient view, as this was the first case of its kind under the new classification, but he issued a warning that if such cases came before him again the penalties would be more severe.
