POPULAR COACH.
OLD BOYS’ FOOTBALL CLUB. SERVICES EULOGISED. At the annual meeting of the Old Boys’ Football Club last evening, Mr J. It. Fitzgerald paid a pleasing tribute to the work of the club’s coach last year, Mr H. D. Tait. In eulogising Mr Tait’s splendid work as coach for many seasons past, Mr Fitzgerald said that although the club was the strongest numerically probably in the Waikato, Mr Tait had done his work faithfully and well with no little sacrifice of his spare time. He only imped that Mi’ Tait’s retirement from the position would be temporary, and that next year he would be on clacx again to help the club keep the reputation his coaching had gained for them as always playing clean, bright, open football. A vote of appreciation for Mr Tait’s services was carried by acclamation.
