HINUERA SCHOOL.
THE ANNUAL PICNIC. The Hinuera School picnic, held in the shady approaches to Messrs Brown and White’s property, was a very happy event The organisation was
perfect, for the committee (Messrs Scelly, De Renzy, Germann and Sweetman), with their wives and helpers, forgot nothing which would enable all to have a share in the fun. The inevitable lolly man (Mr Howard Hawke) led the small fry a pretty dance. Each etiild received a book, the head prefects for 1929 (Miss Muriel Cook and Master Maxwell Sweetman) receiving special volumes for tlie. flne work done by them. The infants received toys. The ice cream stall was well patronised, and Mosrlames Hammonds, Maud and Cook had a strenuous time supplying demands. Among those present were Mr run! Mrs Sl,'We, Harding, who, on route from Rotorua, have been visiting Mrs Stanley Wright. Mr Harding, who now resides near Wanganui, always took a keen interest, in school matters when living in this district, and was for some time chairman the School Committee*.
