Fenton, Australian (Minister for Trade and Customs, who is in London as the Australian delegate to ihe Naval Conference, at a meeting with Tooley Street merchants, urged the reorganisation of the market to enable the liberation of the supplies of Australian butter already here which this week are 30,000 tons in ■excess of the same week in 1929, while Argentine and New Zealand supplies are also much above normal. The merchants intimated that they were equally interested, and were prepared to do all possible individually or in conjunction with the different governments concerned to adjust trade. Several pointed out that prices were affected because Australian producers were selling direct f.o.h. Melbourne. In ihe meanwhile excellent Australian butler could bo purchased in London at Is id per lb. retail.
