MR. JENKINS TO RESIGN. WILL RE-CONTEST PARNELL SEAT. (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Friday. Mr. Jenkins, M.P. for Parnell, states It at he intends to resign and re-con-test the Parnell seat. Mr. J. S. Dickson, the deposed member, will stand against Mr. Jenkins. THE COUNTRY PARTY. BRANCH FORMED' AT HINUERA. A meeting convened by Mr J. B. McKinney, Dominion organiser of the New Zealand Country Political League, was held at Hinuera before a fairly representative gathering. Mr W. 11. Allen, of Okoroirc, as chairman, introduced the speaker, Mr A. E. Robinson of Auckland, secretary to the League, who then explained Hie aims and objects of the Country Party and dealt exhaustively with presentday conditions. Many questions were asked and answered. Mr J. B. McKinney gave some idea of the support likely to be accorded to the party. The meeting recommended that steps be taken to arrange for Mr Bushworth and Mr Robinson to address a meeting at Matarnala and other districts. A resolution was passed pledges support to the movement, and. it was decided to form a branch of the Country Party’s League in Hinuera, Mr P. Hawke being elected convener. the reform party. SOUTH AUCKLAND EXECUTIVE. The South Auckland' executive of the Reform Party is meeting in Hamilton to-day. Delegates are attending from a wide area. Those present include Mr J. a. Young, M.P., and Mr D. llebenton, Dominion organiser for the party.
