ITALIAN ROYAL TRAIN.

Luxurious AND ARTISTIC decorations. Tlie new Italian Royal train was used officially l'or the first time to convey the Belgian Royal Family to Rome for the recent wedding of Princess 'Marie Jose to the Prince of Piedmont. This Royal train consists of three coaches, painted dark blue with the Royal coat of arms in bronze on the doors. The dining car has a tabic 23ft. long, affording ample room for 20 persons, and in addition t’heie is a private compartment for the King, a salon, kitchen and pantry. In each of (he two coaches reserved for Their Majesties there is a vcsibulc, a day compartment, sleeping compartment, a toilet compartment, in addition to compartments l'or the Royal suite and servants. This train differs from any other in the world by reason of ils luxurious and artistic decorations. While avoiding all blatant effects, Professor Casanova has made lavish use of gold, silk, brocades, enamels, bronzes, carpets and precious woods in the decoration of the three coaches. The scheme is characterised by examples of ancient heraldic devices of the Royal House, colours, friezes, and figures exalting the civil and mililary glories of the House of Savoy, and Hie ancient and modern glories of the Italian people.—The Queen.
