It has been largely due to the efforts of a live and energetic secretary that the Frankton Football Club experienced such a successful season last year and to show in some measure their appreciation of his work, Mr P. A. Syers, was presented with a handsome” silver-mounted wine decanter and set of cut crystal glasses by club members at the annual meeting last

evening. The president, Air T. Tyne, m asking Mr Syers to accept this token of tlifir esteem referred to his valuable work in the interests of the club sine* he assumed office last season. Not only had iie been an acquisition to the ,-Uiii, but to football generally, in the town. , ~ . , _ .Mr Syers in reply, slated that he had been taken completely by surprise. Anything lie had done in their interests had been a pleasure to him. His association with tiie Frankton Club had, from ids viewpoint, always been a happy one. He had come to them as a comparative stranger and yet had had, throughout the year, that necessary co-operation of members that was so essential in the success of any body. He thanked them for the kill'd tilings said of him, and added that lie would always look back with pleasant memories on his first year s association with the Frankton Club.
