CANADIAN SHIP SEIZED
BY U.S. COASTGUARD. LIQUIDATION OF A CLAIM. SINKING OF MAQUILLA. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. —Copyright. (Received March 20, 11.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, March 19. A report from Seattle (Washington) states that the freight steamer, Chief Capilano, owned by the Cau-adlan-American Shipping Company. •Vancouver (8.C.), was hoarded and seized by the United States’ marshall from the coastguard cutter. She allegedly was on tlie United States’ side of the Strait Juan do Fuca waters. The seizure was made in connection with the liquidation of a £4OOO claim for loss of cargo when the steamer Maquilla foundered near the Aleutian Islands in December, 1928, allegedly because of the vessel’s unseaworthiness. The Chief Capilano was bound from Vancouver for the Orient with a cargo of wheat.
