COTTON CRISIS IN JAPAN.

The leading cotton importers, the Nippon Mcnkiva, arc in serious difficulties and the chief shareholders are demanding explanations. The president, Mr Kita, promises that the losses will bo written off, but there will be no dividend, lie also suggests a reduction' of capital. The crisis follows the numerous bankruptcies of small importers, forming a commentary on iliu recent panegyrics of Japanese buying methods as a factor in the successful competition, agataat Lancashire.
