PLACED ON BREAD AND WATER. United Pr»«r. KTec. Tpi.—oapyrlzlu. NEW PLYMOUTH, Sunday. A prisoner, John James MeGnrLhy, who is serving a sentence of ten years, was brought before ‘Mr R. W. Tate, S.M., yesterday for striking a warder at the New Plymouth gaol. lie was placed on bread and water for a- bu:m of ii days.
