THE AMERICAN SOUTHDOWN ASSOCIATION.
The American Southdown Association, which has a long list of members, has given the following reasons for calling Southdown sheep the "best in the world:"—I. Because mutton is worth more than wool. 2. Because it is the best mutton ; is the beat graded with fat and lean; is the best and jnciest, and best flavoured. 3. Because the sheep is the earliest to mature. 4, Becausoit is the most beautiful. 5. Because it is as hardy as the Merino. 6. Because it is the next finest wool to the Merino, 7. Because it herds in larger numbers, S. Because it makes more meat to the acre than any other live stock.
