The local agent in charge of the Government Labour Bureau states that men out of work who may not be able to take up harvesting work in the country will have the opportunities afforded to go scrub cutting on contract up the country, on application to him.

Mr Bindon has secured the Government mail carrying contract lor Htikianga Harboor, anil the Government increased the value of the contract to £3OO per annum on condition that a steam launch bo osert in the mail carrying work.
The Wakatipu left liore this afternoon, for the south. She took from Auckland, GO saloon and 22 steerage passenger for southern ports and Melbourne.
