CADETS WANTED.
The Department of Agriculture has lately issued circulars to the various Farmers' Clubs and such like associations in the colony, a copy of which we print below, and we must certainly commend the author, or originator, or conceivor, whoever that may bo, upon the "happy thought." It will at once suggest to our farming friends having oponing? for eligible • young men of means and culture several desirable and pleasant results. Amongst the first of those a good fat premium presents itself to the mind's eye, with probably a fair amount of cheap labour, and in tho case of those of our settlers with fair and marriageable daughter*, why not obtain a husband for one of them at the same time ? The opportunity should be made the most of-: Department of Agriaulture, Wellington, New Zealand, January 17th, 1893,-Sir,-I hove the honour to inform yon that the Agent-General is anxious to obtain, for the information of young men almit tj leave England, the names and addresses of farmers in this colony, who are willing to receive cadots, together with full particulars of the terms which they would charge for so doing. The Hon. the Minister for Agriculture therefore directs me to aik that you will be good enough to forward to this office the names of any of the members of your society who are prepared to take young men as cadets, and the terms on which they will be received. A register will be kept in this office, and a copy sent to the AgentGeneral in London.-1 have the Innour to be, Sir, your obedient servant—R. Evatt, Under-Secretary.
