GEES MANURES.
Within the last few days Mr R. S, Lamb, formerly proprietor of the 1 steam Hourmills at Ngaruawahia, has paid a visit to Waikato, after tv\ absence of many years in New South Wales, for the purpose of introducintGra'ii complete fertilisers, known as" Bonedust and Dried Blood Manures." In looking ovor tho pamphlet we find that these manures are manufactured by the Sydnoy Meat Preserving The details of their chemical composition is found fully described therein, and whatis of the highest value to farmers in this district it contains a report on the analysis of a, sample sent to the Lincoln College, Christchurch, under date September 14th, 18!)2, as follows :-Organic matter and moisture (containing nitrogen equivalent to 4'40 par cent, ammonia), per cent., 60*50; tricalcio phosphate, per cent., 3471; silica and! iuaoluHe matter, per cent., 1*25; calcic carbonate and loss, per cent., S'M, The above analysis shows this sample to be rich in nitrogenous organic mutter, and to contain a fair amount of phosphate of lime. Its value based on the usual figures is:Tricalcic'iPliosphato, 31.71 at 2i, £3 9s 5d ; Ammonia. 4.4 at 15s, £3 lis j total, £6lsa i 5d,-A, W. BIOKKRTON, Public Analyst. We publish tho above analysis in order to show the value placed upon the 8.8. brand hy the New Zealand Government analyst. The company claims that they can afford to sell these manures at exceptionally low prices, we are told something like £1 a ton below the nominal value as certitiod to by the public analyists. The reason given for this is that the company arc under contract to simply immense orders of tinned meat totheEnglish aiidcontinniitii! naval departinents.and these manures being a bi-pro-duct their conversion into cash at prime cost is their chief aim. Formerly the wholesupply was absorbed by contract order from the angar planters in Mauritius, but in consequence of the incroaso of the main branch of the business referred to above, the stock of the material for the manufacture of fertilizers has accumulated and a fresh nutlet in consequence has been sought in New Zealand. Mr Lamb, who i* sole agent for New Zealand, is so confident of the value of these manures that they only require a trial to take a leading place in this colonv. As a proof of this confidence Mr Lamb is distributing good substantial lots amongst the leading agriculturists in Waikato, and as wo are placed in possession of tho facts concerning the return and results of tho trial of these manures, wo shall take good care that thoy aro duly recordod in onv columns,
