HIGHEST PRICE FOR WOOL.
TO THE KDITOIi. Sib,—You mentioned in your paper of the 14th that the highest price for wool for the season had been obtained by Mr Larney, of Lsnriston, Morrmsville, likewise congratulating Mr Larney. I beg to inform you that the same price was obtained for the wool grown on Dr. Tromearne's estate, Wairanai, by the Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, at their first sale of the season, privately. Tho same wool topped tlie Auckland market last year, »t ninepence, and was sold by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company,-Yours, &c,, W. McLUK, Wiiirangi. [ln quoting the price obtained by Mr Lainey for his wool we were guided by the rates obtained at auction, It would scarcely bo expected that we would be in a position to make comparisons in any other way.— Ed. W. T.l
