January 13. _ Tne Ballarat Courier recently published an article acensing several members of Parliament of immorality, and alleging that the mace had been stolen from the Chamber and was now lying in a house of ill-repute Clark, the proprietor, was called to the bar of the House aud after tendering an apology was admonished by the Speaker. An artist named Van Kaspelen.who was living separate from his wifo, shot his landlady, Mrs Wilson dead with a revolver because she had shown some little kindness to his wife. The murderer afterwards committed suicide by shooting himself.
