Tub second series of this season's wool sales nmler tlio management of the Auckland Woolbrokers Association, opened this inominf,. The sample room of the Central Hotel, in which tho sales \vm hold, was well fillod, and bidding was brisk thrmighont, though the buying was chiefly confined to agents nf foreign limits. Tliera were in »ll| 3,800 bales olfered, but some of these were withdrawn. There was a perceptible fall of Jil in tho pound on com-iii-m wool, and log ttiiutd brought J'l lew than on the occasion of the firsts-lies.- Best wool, however, maintained its price. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company olfered over 1100 bales and prices' were realised as underHalfbrcds ranged from 7id to Sd, but in the case of nine bales marked N.A.L. the full figure of Sid was reached; finacrossbreds averaged 8d medium irossbreds brought from 5J] to 7d; the averago of morino was between Oil and 7d, but in tho case nf some lots the extreme figure of 8d was reached. Some of the last season's clip of longwool brought from G/id to 7d.
