Auckland, Last Night, Snom.v after luilf-mat eleven this morning a lire occurred, which resulted in tlie total rie-traction of a four-roomed house in Nixon-street, Archil), belonging to Mr Jeffries, of Albert-street, and occupied by William George Palmer, bush contractor. The fire was caused by a little boy, six years old, setting lire to a tow mnttrass which was being picked out. Mr William EJRnr. who for ovnr a quarter of a century carried on dyo works at Richmond, died at his residence this niornine. Diceawl had suffered from paralysis of the stomach for the last eight or nine months, and at last succumbed to the disease.
