At the sales of the various blood stock announced to take place to-day at the Homo Auction Marts - Messrs Alfred IJuckiaiid and dons' and Messrs Hunter and Nolan's—very larsre numbers were present but no buyers. Major (Jamie's mare Calvi (by Nelson from Tho Maid) was purchased by Mr J, W. Gouibvin, of llawera, for GO guineas, and a bay pony, by Dauphin from Lioness, was bought by Mr J. B Williamson at 18 guineas, Mr Dobbett's Imr-cs failed to find buyers. Mr G. Wright bid 100 guineas for Quadrant. All the i.ther stick was pa«ed in.
Tim yearling purchased at Wellington Park on behnlf of Mr Hordern will be shipped tu Sydney to-morrow. Mr J. McNicol, of Ohanpn, has sold Capapie to Mr Nixon, of Wangauui, for £2OO. He will bo t ikon to his new home on Monday next. Tho majority of tho racing men and visitors who came to Auckland for the rice meeting left to-day in tho Maiiapouri. The racehorses Crackshot, Brigand, Mahoki, Taranna, Reflector, and Aorern were also nn board beside* Loch Ness and Scot Free, hound for Gisborne, and in addition six yearlings, purchased at the Wellington Park sale were also conveyed by the steamer.
