Winner of Cup to carry 71b penalty. 6. SELLING HURDLES, of losovs. Entry, 15s. Distance, about li miles. Over six flights of hurdles. Four-year-olds to carry llrt 71b, fiveyear-olda to carry 12st 51b, G year-olds and aged to carry 12at 1 lib. Winner to be sold immediately after the race for £50. If entered to be sold for £40, allewed 71b; if for £30, allowed 141b ; if for £20, 211b ; if for £10, 2Slb; if for nil, 351b. Half proceeds over selling price to go to second horse. 7. FLYING STAKES, of 15sovs. Nomination, 6s; acceptance, 9s. Distance about three-quarters of a mile. Winner of Cup to carry 101b penalty ; winner of Plate to carry 71b penalty. Penalties not cumulative.

CONDITIONS. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles, Ngaruawahia Cup, Ngaruawahia Plate, and Flyiug Slakes to be sent to the Secretary, Ngaruawahia, before 9 p.m. on 7th January, 1893. Handicaps to appear on or about the 10th January, 1593. Acceptances to be declared before 9 p.m. on January 14th, 1893, the day of general entry. Five per cent, deducted from all stakes to go towards improving the racecourse. The meeting held, and all races run, subject to the rules of the Auckland Racing Club. No entry shall be received except on this condition : That all disputes and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards or those whom they may appoint. Entries, nominations, and acceptances must be accompanied by the necessary cash or cheque. Special attention is drawn to this rule, as there will be no exception. The attention of horse-owners is particularly drawn to the following rule :— That the pedigree, age, performances, and colours must accompany the nomination of every horse. Bookmakers' fee, 10s Gd.
