Boulanoist and Bonaparte agents are very active in the provinces, and are urging the peasants to get rid of a form of Government which despiils them. December 20. A committee has been formed in the city for public safety, and the members are divided into 80 districts. The Marquis of Mores is taking a prominent part in the movement. M. Zola considers that the press are creating an artificial excitement, and declares that politics everywhere are marked with "dirty business." The hopes of the 1 loyalists he characterises as ridiculous.
