RAGLAN.

Anglican Home Mission.—The Rev. Mr Haselden has just paid a visit to this district holding services on Sunday, 18th, at the following places, viz., Waitetuna, in tho morning; Te Mata, afternoon ; and at Raglan in the evening of that day. The service at the latter place was very well attended, and at all places much appreciated by the congregations assembled. On Monday evening, in the school room, Raglan, Mr Haselden gave one of the serins of his interesting lectures, viz., the "Life of Christ, beautifully illustrated with lantern pictures, taken from fie works of the grejt masters, There was a large number of persons present, all available seats being occupied, and the lecture was listened to with great a'tention. The Rev. gentleman left the district on Tuesday morning.

Sheep Shearing.— Fine weather having sot in sheep shearing has commenced at Te Akan, and a large number of sheareisare at work there. The various settlers who were prevented by bad weather from completing shearing are busily engaged finishing that work. Sports.—The programme for the New Year's sports under the auspices of the Raglan Athletic Association, has now been published, and consist of nearly twenty events, and the prizes given will consist of money and various trophies. Road Works. —The main road from Waipa to Raglan, is now in a good state, and other roads are being much improved by the Council. That body is showing great wisdom in having these works carried out during tho summer months.
