THE JUBILEE SINGERS.

The representative of the Jubilee Singers (MrS. Churchill Otton)|arrived in Hamilton yesterday, and as will be seen by a notice in this issue, they will open their season in Waikato at Cambridge on Thursday evening next in the Public Hall, and on the following evening the talented company will give an entertainment in the Volunteer Hall, Hamilton. Many of our readers will remember the two previous visits of theFisk Jubilee Singers in former years, and the novel and delightful evenings that were spent in liscening to their performances. In the reports referring to the company we notice that the present combination contains only nno of the original Fisk Company (Mr Orpheus McAdoo), the director of the present one. Our evening contemporary in dealing wilh the concert given on Boxing night amongst other equally favourable comments says : —'"The united volume of sound could be compared to nothing but the tones of a superior pipe organ. But it was not only the blending of the voices that secured the singers the tributes of praise they receivod from the audience, it was as much as anything the capital balance of parts maintained. Part singing is the company's forte, though the solos interspersed between the choruses are exceedingly high-class efforts. The end, with the glee " Good-night, Beloved " (Pinsuti), came all too soon, the two hours having slipped away unnoticed. It was a rich, musical treat from beginning to end, and the Company is certainly the best that has visittd Auckland for some time."
