(by electric telegraph—copyright). TIMARU, Last Night. Protests are being made agains; landing of sand as ballast from foreign ships. Last week a snake and a toad were landed in South American sand and tho notorious Bathurst burr is now found growing on sand ballast from Australia which was dumped last year.
WELLINGTON, Last Night. A young girl, named Emma Dai ting, while riding near Wairarapa L«»ke ferry, was killed, by her horse rearing and falling on her.
