TE AWAMUTU.
Half-holiday.—The principal business people have decided upon keeping Thnrspav afternoon as the half-holiday under "The Shop and Shop Assistants Act." There is no train to Te Avvamutii on that
day, and the mail is also very late, and as a business day it is the quietest, and the one best suited for the holiday. There an', of course, several who refuse to close, but it is expected they will join ir. the movement ere long. Municipal.—The footpath round the Post office was in a very dirty stnte last Tuesday at mail time, the heavy ruin canning mud and slush ankle deep. A few loads of gravel would soon set it right, but verb sap.
