CRICKET.
TAUPIRI V. CAMBRIDGE. The first cricket match of tho season between the Taupiri and Cambridge Clubs was played on Sydney Square, Hamilton, yesterday, resulting in a very hollow win for Taupiri by 119 runs. Taupiri went first to the wickets and were not disposed of until they had put up 136, of which E. B. Co.v scored 58, Howsley 21, Gleetfon 18, and A. Hall 10, these being the only ones to reach double figures, Cambridge then went in, but their innings was simply a procession, all of them going out for 17, W. G. Park being top scorer with 5. The rain had now coma on so ho*vi!y that it was decided to declare tha match closed, Taupiri scoring a win as above.
