SALE OF ABSENTEES LANDS.
YusTRnnAY, at the Resilient Magistrate's Court, ;it Cambringe, Mr Hugh Fitzgerald, collector to the Pukeknra Road Board, obtained judgment against the owners of the following sections of land :—Lots 144, 14U, 404,113 and 5U>, Cambridge West, and Lot 318, IJ.-iriahl J .-iriah »f Ngnroto. The costs grunted were 15s si'l in each case. The above cases were merely brought as test cases, and we uiKierst.and a larwe number will be bronght forwiir) lit the next Court. Two other summonses were iss'.ied, but the owners turned up and paid the rates. We think the Pukeknra R-mri Board are quite right in taking steps t> get the land occupied, fur at the present the acres above referred to are a perfect forest of furze.
