AUCKLAND NEWS.
(BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN' CORRESPONDENT). Auckland, Last Night. Mr W. L. Rkks, M.H.R., has written to to the Premier urging him to convene a session of Parliament in February or March next to settle the native lands question. The shops in Karangahape road, Poneonby, and Symonds-street were all cloned this afternoon in pursuance of a resolution in favour nf the Wednesday closing. Alexander Jainee Scott appeared at the Police Court this morning before Dr. Giles formally charged with the wilful murder nf William Thompson, it Wuikomiti on 30th of October. Mr H'.'sketh appeared on behalf of the prirouer, and Mr Tule, Crown Prosecutor, appeared, instructed by Inspector ISroham who was also in attendance Mr Tiile asked for a remind for eight eleitr days until the 11th inst., which was granted.
