Sesdisc Stoi'k to the Show.—llo w beautifully the Railway Department attend to detail was shown when they were taking stock' to the show. One exhibitor left Ngaroto by the morning' train with eleven hoad of cattle and two horse", and at Ohnupo booked through to Hamilton Enst, paving freight for right through. On arriving- n(, Frankton he found that the cattle truck would not. be taken on until the Auckland train arrived at 2.30 p.m. He could not leave valuable prize stock to horn one another in the truck until afternoon, so ho had to take tho other alternative and drive them through the Hamilton streets. He had to letve ono bull behind in tho truck, fearing it would fight with another one also with him while g'oing through the streets. When the train arrived at Hamilton East station in tho afternoon with the remaining exhibit he found tho cattle yards he had heard had lately been put up existed only on paper, and the animal narrowly escaped coming to grief in jumping from tho truck floor to tho ground, there being no landing stage for cattle. He then left, feeling rather thankful that he had tnken the rest out at Frankton, Alter all the vaunted railway arrangements for otrrying stonk to the show, these facts .show a want of intelligence that is very little credit to the department, but further comment is needless and, I suppose, also useless.
