PUKEKURA ROAD BOARD.

The abovo, Board nut in the Pukirimn School on the 3rd instant. Present: Messrs H. Buttle, (chairman), J. Anderson, It. Reynolds, Thornton, Walker, and R. W. Mears. Gate os lto.U).—Mr \V. Vospcr wrote, stating the Board had no authi rtty to make him remove the gate he had erected, as it was on the boundary line ; but that he had moved it back a few feet so that it did not now even abut upon the Board's road.—Mr Bridgman also wrote, saying the alteration Mr Vospiu- had made did not in any way abate the nuisance. —He also asked for a C '|jy of the resolution touching the mattei, passed at the previous meeting, and if the Board could inform him who had charge of the road in question.—The clerk was instructed to inform Mr Bridgir.an that the Board had no authority to int- Here with the gate as it was not in its di.-trict, and that the Board ijid not know what body had charge of the road upon which the gate is now situated.—[The Pinko County Council spent money upon that road not many months ago, so it is probably in its charge -Ed. W. T.] Noxious Weeds.—Mr Hugh Fitzgerald was appointed the person to serve notices etc., re the eradication of furze and other noxious weeds. Test Cases. It was resolved to sell some of the land of absentees for rates, for if the rates go over two yeais in arrears they are unrecoverable. Notices will ho p.sted upon the following sections of land, and after the legal time has expired thev will be sold ; lot 204, Te Rnpa pirish, f)0 acres ; 31S, Ngaroto parish, 4i'.j? acres ; h.ts Hi, 371, 4!iS, 00i>, oil), and ijl'.l, all in Cambridge West, each being one acre. Nuuitl.-m's Road. -The matter of gravelling this road, which had been adjourned from a | rovi'iis meeting, was again ad journed till next meeting, which will, be held on Decembersth. AcuiJUNL'S. Two accounts were passed for iHvtnent :-viz ; G. Gi!->s v\ \-2<, and It. Shaw £1 U, and the Board then l-ise.
