(IIY TELKGKAI'H — PiIESS ASSOCIATION). DUNEUIN, Last Night. Promising alluvia! ground has been struck at a depth of 20 feet on Paterson's freehold, Arrowtown. A severe shock of eaithquake was felt at 11.13 p.m., on Saturday night, its direction being north to south. OAMAUU, Last Night. A sharp shock of earthquake was experienced on Satmday night, at 11.10 p.m. The direction was east to west. OPOTIKI, Last Night. The first horse parade was held on Saturday, under the auspices of the Opotiki Agricultural Society. The Clydesdale, Marquis, was much admired. Wallace was unavoidably absent. At the County Council meeting to-day, the silver medal of the Royal Humane Society of Australasia, was presented by Mr Charles Backett, county chairman, acting for the Governor, to James White, in recognition of his bravery in saving life on the Opotiki bar, in August of lust year.
