HAMILTON CRICKET CLUB.

TO THE HDITOR. Sin, —Had your correspondent "'Bat and Ball " attended the annual meeting of the above club he would have found it a very representative one of those interested in cricket. The choice of that meeting almost unanimously fell upon Mr von Stunner as captain ; and, notwithstanding the strictur. s of " 15: it and Ball, 7 ' this inu-t be taken a token of their confidence in him and his ability for tho position, or they would certainly not have elected him. If your correspondent were convinced that his amendment to the rules, re the election of captain, would bo to the interests of cricket, why did lie not, in ins unavoidable absence, get some other member to move in the direction indicated ; and perhaps he will tell us what business the annual meeting should transact if it ought not to elect officers, &c. Perhaps he thinks it ought to take the form of ;i quakers' meeting, and that the members should .sit and admire each other. In conclusion, I would remind our friend that anybody can find fault, but those who are good at fault-finding arc seldom good at anything else. —Yours, &c., Stumps.
