WAITOA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above-named Board took place at the Nottingham O«tlo Hotel, MorrinsviUe, on .Saturday. Present • Messrs W. P. Chepn-.ell (in the chair). J. Horrell, W. Main, R. Parr and J. Gordon.—At the meeting of the Board held on the 3l)th July laet, the Engineer and Mr Parr were appointed to draw out a scheme of work for the expenditure of thirds from the deferred payment and perpetual lease lands, due to the Board on the 30th April last, amounting , to £66 13a 4d. The scheme, as drawn out, was submitted to the Board on Saturday, aud approved, and will be forwarded tor the approval of the Land Board. H>id the scheme been submitted to the Lind Board at its meeting in July, and approved, the money would have been placed to the Board's credit on the Ist August. As the matter was only laid before the Waitoa Road Board on the 30th July, it was impossible to submit it to the Land Board in time for the money to be paid on the Ist Auttu4, although one of the members of the Board thought, otherwise.—With the exception of making the rate, there was not much business to transact. —Accounts amounting to £43 -Is 7d were passed for payment.
