AFGHANISTAN.

(by klectric telegraph.—copyright). Calcutta, August 5. It is reported that among the Hazara rebels who have been captured there are five Russians, who have been sent in chains to Cabul. Tho Viceroy proposes to send the Commander-in-Chief, Lord Eoberts, to Jellalabad to meet the Ameer of Afghanistan, with a strong escort. A serious affray is reported to have occurred .at Gotuatash, in tho Pamirs, on the boundary line between Afghanistan and China. Some Afghan troops came into collision with thirty Eussian soldiers be* longing to one of the parties now in that district. The Afghans killed five of them, and captured sixteen, whom they hold as prisoners, and refuse to release. The Russians vow that in future they will neither give nor take quarter.
