HAMILTON LIGHT INFANTRY.
LIKUrRNANT UUAST, adjutant of the district, inspected the Hamilton Light Infantry on Thursday evening There was a muster of over forty of all ranks, Captain Reid jind Lieut. Dyer being on parade. After inspection, Lieut. Grant took command of the company, and exercised them in skirmishing drill— extending from and closing on the right, left and centro, forming groups and rallying squares, advancing and retiring. Several other movement* in company drill were also gone through, on the whole very creditably. Before the company was dismissed, Lieut. Grant addressed the men, pointing out several minor details that required thoir attention, and complimenting chem on tho muster and the cleanliuess of their arms ana accoutrements. Referring to the band, he said ho was glad to notice steady progress was being made by them, and was particularly well pleased with their lime, which, he *uid, was very good. Drill will be held on every Thursday evening during tho present month ' The company wdl be inspected by Colon?! Fox on Thursday, September Ist, at 11 a.m. TneTe Awanmtn Mounted Rifles will uUo parade in Hatmlt m, at the same hour, and the two coini anies will be inspected to* gether.
