TIIE nianugcr of the Pruprietaryinine .states that the terms of the notice to the miners have expired, ftnd the owners are now free to take wh.it action they deem necessary to work the mines. The Koyal Commission appointed to inquire into the charges levelled by Mr Schey, M.L.A., against Mr Eddy and the other Railway Commissioners, have submitted their report to His Excellency the Governor. They declared the charges to be false, and without any foundation whatever. Houakt, August 2. Sir R. G. Hamilton retires in March. He will not receive another Governorship, and will probably settle in Tasmania.
