HUNTLY.

R.M. Cocrt.— A sitting of the R.M. Court was held here on Monday, but it proved u short one, there being only one case to deal with, that of Batten v. Callaphan. The defendant was chained with assaulting the child of plaintiff, but after hearing the evidence, His Worship dismissed the case. Ba/.aas.—The bazaar and sale of work, proceeds of which are to be devoted to the Church Building Pund. was opened hero on Tuesday iiftenioen. The hall was decorated with ferns, &<:., for the occasion, and the stalls containing the articles exhibited for sale were most artistically arranged, and presented quite au ornate appearance. Tliiv were presided over by Mosdames I'ria'r, R.uisome, Tattley, and lliiri-am, assisted by a number of fair hands, and were replete with quite a large stock of really handsome poods, including specimens of fancy work, articles ot vertu and bric-a-lvae of the first order, and the quality of the Roods offered reflected in the liighc.-t. manner upon the. industry and tasln of the ladies who had voluntarily undertaken the task. Tho refreshment stall was taken care of (together with the customers) by Mesdames K. Skellern and Moren, and u shooting gallerv, Punch and Judy show, &c, itc, all helped to bring prist to the mill. Tlie hall was crowded 0:1 Tuesday ntfrhc, and very fair business was done ail r mud.
