FOOTBALL.
•WHATAWHATA V. KOHANGA. The match between the above native clubs was played at Kohanga on Juno 2ud, and resulted in a win for the Whatawhata team by 11 points to 10. The following composed the t«am3:— Whatawhata : Fall bask, Wharepouri ; three-quarters, Peter White, W. Walker, A. Harry ; half backs, Awarutu (captain), W. Bishop, M. Nnki; forwards, Pou, le Ao, Rorey Edwards, Mad Jack, Moetu, Whiti, T. Tukore, Mapanui. Kohanga: Full back, Kapoti; three-quarter backs, Taupo, Te Rangi, Waiti; half backs, Raihani, Whisky (captain), E. Poyu ; forwards, Tewe, Te Tana, Paul, Davis, William, Tahatika, Harihari, R. Bartly. During the first spell Davis and Raihani scored for Kohanga, and Edwards kicked a goal from a free kick for Whatawhata. In the second spe'l Whisky scored a try for Kohanga, but no goal was kicked ; Raihani also kicked a goal from a mark, lor Whatawhata during this spell Bishop scored a try, which Edwards converted into a goal; Edwards also scored a try, which was not converted, Messrs Martin and Isaac umpired for Whatawhata and Kohanga. respectively, and Mr Ceorge kirkwood acted as referoe, but did not give satisfaction. After the match the Whatawhata team was entertained at. a splendid sapper, and a dance wound up the day's fun.
The following will represent the Whawhakia Club in their match asainst Huntly, to be played at Huntly on Saturday :- Fullback,'!'. Marshall; thren-quartars, H. Ranana, H. Marshall, H Paki ; halves, Okeroa, A.okai: forwards, Whin. Tehi, W. Paki Tims, Pote, Ruta, F. Wilson, T. Katipa, Potaka ; emergencies, J* Tarawa, Tnenga, Tuheka, Pikari, Maiwara, lupou. Players are requested to meet at Kakaumangamanga at 1 p.m. on that day. The colours of this club are cardinal aud blue. The team to represent the Hamilton Club in their match with Whatawhata, at Hamilton, on Saturday, wih be chosen from the following :—Gillett (2), Mayes, Keep, Osborne, Reid, Hume, Smart, Hammond, Harrison, Peacock. Williamson, Cussidy. Mo..re, Jolly, Snaithe, Qmnn, Parr, Crosby, Jumbo.and W. Browne. Members are requested to bo on the ground at 2.„0 p.m. sharp.
