R.M. COURT, HAMILTON
Wednesday.—Before Oapt. Jackson, R.M. | W. Rothwell v. W. Fawkks.—Claim £4 10s for a cow. The evidence in this caso was heard last court day, when judgment was reserved. The R.M. gave judgment for the plaintiff for the amount claimed and costs, £3 18s Gd. Mr Hay appeared for the plaintiff and Mr O'Neill for the defendant. W. Manktelow v. Isaac Coatks.—The plaintiff in this case, as Registrar of Dogs for the Borough of Hamilton sued Mr Coates for neglecting to register a dog. The dog is registered with the Kirikirirna registrar, where Mr Coates' place of business is, but Mr Manktelow contended that it should have been registered in Hamilton, where he resided. The case was dismissed with costs, £1. A. CuAwronn v. E. P. Donnelly.— Claim £5 18s Rd for goods delivered. Mr O'Neill appeared for the plaintiff, but there was no appearance of the defendant. Judgment was given for the amount claimed and costs, 325. Police v. W. Laloii.— W. Lalor was charged with not having sufficient lawful means of support. The prisoner pleaded "|Guilty." The R.M. said he was averse to sending a man to gaol, whose only crime was that he was old and uuable to work. The prisoner was remanded until 2 o'clock, p.m., wheu, no arrangements having been come to to keep him, he was committed to Mount Eden for 14 days without hard labour. The Charitable Aid Board allowed this man one ration per day, but it was no use to hiin, aa he had no place where to eook his food. C, Froiwham v. J. Hughes and Another—Mr Dyer appeared for tha plaintiff and Mr Hay for tho defendant. The claim was for £51 17s. On the application of Mr Hay, the case was adjourned until next court day.
