THE GOVERNOR'S RECEPTION.
(BV TKLKUttAI'H.—ruKSS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, Last Night. Lord Glasgow is understood to be a Freemason, having been initiated in a Lnd<?e under the Irish Constitution abroad. It is not probable that the Masons will take any part in the public reception of the new Governor. When Lord Glasgow arrives salutes will be fired from the shore batteries, and H.M.S. Ringarooma, while the latter's blue jackets and marines will be landed to take pait in the demonstration of welcome. The Friendly Societies will also be present, and a detachment of 300 Maoris will perform a dance of welcome. The Education Board have been asked to declare a half-holiday, so that the school children can take part in the proeossion. The Permanent Artillery and Voluntoers will be called out by tho Defence Deuartment.
