BRITISH AND FOREIGN BIBLE SOCIETY.
♦ — Thb Rev. H. T. Robjohvs addressed a meeting in the Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, last night, on the latest workings of the above Society. There wa3 a very fair attendance, the Rev. R. O'O. Biggs being in the chair. The lecturer Rave a very interesting address, and explained the working of the Society, and urged upon those present the desirableness of forming a branch of the Society in Hamilton. The benefits were shown of having a BiWe for every member of the household. At the close of the address, the Rev. J. Hendrie moved that a branch of the Society be formed in Hamilton, that Mr Graham be elected president, and that the ministers of the various denominations in Hamilton and any others who may be appointed form the committee. —Carried. The appointment of a, secretary and treasurer will be made at a future meeting. Mr Hendrie also epoke on the missionary work in India and Ceylon. The meeting dosed with the singing of the doxology and the pronouncing of the benediction.
